Syrian Aid -Doctors Without Borders

Tax deductible
Attention friends, family, and all who may be reading this: it is time for us to make a difference in the humanitarian crisis in Syria.

Regardless of politics or personal stances on the Syrian conflict, this fact remains - there are thousands of human beings suffering and they need our help. Innocent civilians are trapped in cities under siege. Families gather nightly in their homes, praying to survive overnight bombings and see the light of another day. Hospitals are being destroyed by military strikes. Double tap attacks are targeting first responders.

I'm willing to triple match the first $500 in donations, for a $1500 personal contribution from me. Skipping your morning cup of coffee for a few days and donating $10, after my triple match, will turn into $40 of medical aid for the people of war-torn Syria.

Doctors Without Borders, known internationally as Medecins Sans Fronteires, is providing crucial medical aid and support to facilities directly assisting those affected by the conflict. You can read about their work here: http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/country-region/syria Your donation to this campaign will be triple-matched by me personally and will go directly to this organization, which has been given the highest rating (4 stars) by Charity Navigator.

Those who know me well know that my heart has been breaking for those affected by the war in Syria. I've wept over pictures of the devastation, of children's bodies being pulled from the rubble...but my tears didn't fix anything. I've lost sleep thinking of the civilians trapped in the middle of a conflict between their government, opposition groups, and terrorists...but my insomnia didn't fix anything. I've threatened to quit my job and become a humanitarian aid worker in Syria...but after some insight from my mother, I've realized I'm ill-equipped to assist and my best intentions wouldn't fix anything. I'm tired of feeling powerless to make a difference and this is the best way I can help. I planned to make a contribution at Christmas but the people of Syria can't wait that long - they need our help now.

Let's show what can happen when good people are willing to do something and make small sacrifices on behalf of those who so desperately need help. Join me in making a difference.

Thank you.
