Volunteering in Indonesia

In August this year, I will be going on a trip to Indonesia for two weeks, where I will be volunteering in Tabanan alongside the Plan My Gap Year team. The trip is through the National Citizen Service’s (NCS) Graduate Programme at Bradford City Community Foundation.
We intend to work with children less fortunate than us in the community of Tabanan, helping them with their education. The primary focus of this teaching will be based around English. The growing tourism sector in this area means that those able to converse in English have far more prospects than those that can’t. We believe this project makes a huge difference to the community of Tabanan, providing them with better education and childcare opportunities.
There will also be the chance for us to work with the endangered wildlife in Indonesia, providing care to some of the 40 primates and birds that live on the island, most of which are subject to the dangers of deforestation.
I would be extremely grateful for any support that helps me in achieving my goal to take part in this wonderful experience!
