Mayugi is a Miracle

Donation protected
On the night of the 4th October, my nephew’s mom went to the hospital in Kigali to check what was making her neck throb. She was diagnosed with severe Pre-eclampsia and had to deliver my nephew, Mayugi Muberanziza Ntagara, at 28weeks.

They both got far too close to death, however their fighting spirits would not let them give up. She is now out of hospital, recovering at home, and doing her best to get milk to ease Mayugi's journey home. It is Mayugi’s 30th day in NICU. He is holding strong. He improves daily, by next week he will be in the paediatric ward.

Unfortunately, all this has come as a shock to my brother's family, and while trying to recover and keep their son alive, the hospital bills have ran beyond Insurance coverage and they now find themselves at a crossword. The choice is to keep Mayugi going, following his many indications that he is ready to be in this world. Born at 800 grams, he had everything against him, yet he has risen to 1kg, and his oxygen intake  is at 0.2 with the ultimate goal being 0.0.

The reason for this page is that currently, my brother's family find themselves in a rather unfortunate situation in which

- Their Insurance only pays a very small potion of the hospital bills needed to get Mayugi up to speed.
-At 19 days, the bill was at RWF3,612,929.69 (US $4,070.63)
-While their Health Insurance caps at RWF 750,000 (US $845.01)

Mayugi Muberanziza Ntagara has all the vital signs of life:

-He has moved from the big breathing machine to the smaller nasal tubes for oxygen
-He has increased his meal intake from 5ml to the current 17ml
-"Where I worried I might never hear him cry, of late whenever I visit him, I get to hear his voice whether in a baby-talk way or when he cries" says his mother....
-He constantly pulls the machine off.....a sign that it bothers him, and he is getting ready to get it off

Mayugi is a second born, he comes after a big sister of 4yrs of age by the name of Isaro. She is just as anxious to have her brother home as she is yet to see him (only myself and dad are allowed in NICU, no children or distant relatives).

Mayugi's mom Grace Ingabire works as a Data Analyst, and her company (LATERITE Kigali ltd) has helped me as much as they could.
Mayugi's dad is an artist and he has also contributed the best he can.

We are a small family facing a real life Financial crises that can be the deciding factor on the life of a little boy.

We implore you, dear family, friends, fellow humans in this Universe to please assist us in getting our boy the help he needs so that he can come home soonest. Any assistance you can afford will be welcomed.

We look forward to your generosity.
