Help Master’s Manna Fight Hunger and Food Insecurity
Master’s Manna, Inc. took on the mantle of fighting HUNGER and
FOOD INSECURITY in 2007. The Board of Directors, with our small staff and
a dedicated band of volunteers, plan daily, weekly and monthly how to provide for
our neighbors who struggle every day with how to provide for their families.
During Food Pantry hours, 7 shoppers are escorted through the pantry every
15 minutes to select groceries for their families – an average of 420 families each
week. On average, we estimate each family receives enough groceries to provide
meals for their families for 3 to 4 days of the week. Through these appointments,
we distribute more than 12,000 pounds of food every week. During the past year,
2018, Master’s Manna distributed over 302 tons of food. Master’s Manna is a food
pantry of choice – no set box/bag for each shopper registered. Every family
chooses foods that are culturally suited for their families and foods they enjoy. The
only limitation we have is - we are only able to offer to our shoppers donations we
receive from the public. While we are able to purchase items from the Connecticut
Food Bank to fill in the gaps, Master’s Manna relies solely on the general public
and our corporate sponsors to keep the doors open and maintain operating costs.
We do not receive either the State or Federal funding. In addition to the food
pantry, hot meals are served in the Family Dining Area several times a week.
We ask for your help at this time because our shelves were nearly bare when
the doors were opened this week. Our hearts sank. Knowing that for our clients,
HUNGER is a 24/7/365 struggle.
Please consider making a donation to help us continue the good works we do
for those who live in need and in fear of HUNGER
With your help we can do this and “Build a Stronger Community Together.
“FOOD IS NOT AN OPTION”
Thank you all,
