Martinez Family Immigration Support

The Martinez family needs your support! Due to funding and immigration complications, the family needs to leave the US and wait to reaquire legal immigration status while in Honduras.
The Martinez family is a missionary family serving the hispanic community through their church, Iglesia Discipular Anabaptista, in Harrisonburg, VA. Luis Gerardo, Loly, and their three children - Luis Jr., Lucia, and Mariana - moved to Harrisonburg from Tegucigalpa, Honduras in 2009 for Luis to study at Eastern Mennonite University's Seminary program with legal, documented immigration status. They helped to plant IDA and in 2013, Luis became pastor of the church. He was granted his pastoral credentials in 2016.
Supporting a family under the type of immigrant visa the Martinez family was granted has been very difficult, with support coming only through the church and community. Luis needs sponsorship through a religious agency to maintain legal status, which has yet to be accomplished.
Due to lack of funding and sponsorship, US Immigration has recently denied continued legal status to the family. While they wait to reapply and find a source of sponsorship, the family will need to leave the country and relocate to Honduras, leaving the church and community behind.
To support the family as they prepare to leave, relocate, and reapply over the coming months, they needs funds for the following:
- Airfare for 4
- Housing & living expenses for the remainder of their stay in US
- Housing & living expenses for relocation to Honduras
- Legal Fees
- Health Care
- Education for Lucia & Mariana
To disperse funds to the family Madeline and Luis will withdraw from GoFundMe and transfer the balance into their account that they will be able to access while out of the country.

Madeline is married to Luis Martinez (Jr.). She and Luis met at Eastern Mennonite High School - the Martinez family quickly became a second family to her. She lives with Luis in Harrisonburg, VA.
