Martha's Pantry  VANCOUVER, WA
We are Marthas Pantry. We help people like Yvette and Jaden (pictured above) over the rough patches they may experience in this difficult world without sacrificing their dignity.   Since  1986, Martha's Pantry has operated as the only non-government agency in SW Washington serving those living with HIV/AIDS. We also help others that need assistance.

We are funded entirely by donations and grants and provide food, personal hygiene supplies and other necessities for 60 to 70 client families each month. These supplies are crucial to the people we serve. Something as small as providing toothpaste to a mother who struggled to provide it to her child makes an enormous difference.

Feature Story on the Pantry from The Columbian Newspaper

On May 25, 2016,  an intentional fire was started at the church where Martha's Pantry was based.  We suffered significant losses and now are based at a temporary location.

We are now hoping to build a modest permanent home to allow us to serve our community for decades to come. The land where the building will be placed will likely be leased to our charity for a nominal fee which will allow us to reduce our already modest administrative expenses.

We need your help! Why donate?  Because YOU can help lighten the burden of others.

"Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us everyday"-Sally Koch.  Please take advantage of this opportunity and donate.

Thank you for your support.

On Saturday, we had a delivery of over 1500 pounds of food from Esters pantry. What a blessing! So many friends doing what they can to help - we're at a loss for words. Thank you seems so inadequate.

Our first day back in business was a success. We served 8 families yesterday, had a visit from the Columbian newspaper and channel 6 news, Pastor Jennifer Brownell from the UCC dropped by to make sure we are okay, and Sandy and Carol from Animeals came by to replenish the pet food we lost. What a wonderful day!

Our hours remain the same; 4 - 7pm on Thursdays and 10 - 1pm on Fridays. We are still short in a few areas, but working hard to get the holes filled. We are looking forward to welcoming our friends to our new home at the east side (on Texas St) of the Vancouver Heights United Methodist Church. Stop by and check out our new digs.

Great news! Vancouver Heights United Methodist Church has invited us to use their church to house our Pantry until we can figure out the next steps. The address is 5701 MacArthur Blvd. Vancouver, WA 98661. Our tentative open date is Thursday, June 9, but we will keep you posted.

Folks have asked what we were hit the hardest on so they would know what to donate. Most of the products we lost were box-prepared meals such as hamburger helper, mac and cheese, scalloped and mashed potatoes, cereal, pasta and things like that. Many of the canned foods we were able to clean and save. Boxed milk and juices are other big losses for us.

Thank you so much to all of the people who have donated food and funding thus far! We appreciate your love and support more than you know.

This is a one-of-a-kind mission executed with excellence. We saw the devastation to the pantry, but most of all have been witness to an incredible rebirth!
