Mark Carson's Wheelchair Van

Mark Carson has dedicated his life to serving our community and now our community has an opportunity to help him.
A cervical neck injury caused from a vehicle accident in 1971 left Mark paralized from the chest down. Bruised but not broken, Mark pressed on and has lived a full and active life of service to others.
With a degree in social work from Harding University, Mark serves as Vice President of the Board for Jacob's Place, a non-profit organization serving homeless families in White County, Arkansas.
Mark has not allowed his injury to slow down his passion for tennis either. He played competitive wheelchair tennis for 14 years, traveling the nation and garnering achievments like #1 in doubles and #2 in singles on a national level.
Mark attributes all of his successes first to the Lord for His faithfullness and also to his sweetheart wife, Barbara, celebrating 38 years of marriage.
Due to a lifetime of pushing himself in a wheelchair and wear on his shoulders and wrists, his health is causing him to need to move to a motorized wheelchair. The cost of the motorized wheelchair is covered, but the cost for a van that will allow him to travel in his wheelchair is not.
A used van costs $50,000, which is a lot of money. However, this is a man who has devoted his life to serving others and if we pull together, we can bless Mark and Barbara with the gift of a van that will allow him to have mobility to continue serving others and have a better quality of life.
