Mark battles cancer!

If you are reading this, you have likely been touched by Mark. He is the kind face behind the counter at Beacon Hill Victrola, 300 mornings a year. He is the willing ear, patiently listening to our triumphs and troubles. He has seen us at our worst (pre-coffee), and has not judged. Over the past 7 years, he has watched our neighborhood change, and our kids grow. In a small but profound way, he has been there for us.
It is time for us to be there for him.
Mark was recently diagnosed with Stage IV throat cancer. He started 7 weeks of concurrent chemotherapy and radiation in mid-November. Although he has health insurance, out-of-pocket medical costs will be high. He will not be able to work during much of his treatment, or during the anticipated 7 plus weeks of recovery. He has no available family support, and, like many baristas, has limited financial resources.
He is in need of help, both financial and otherwise.
