A growing culture of conformity in universities and digital technologies undermining the press are just some of the forces reshaping modern society. There is an increasing need for public spaces where ideas can be exchanged free of both commercial pressure and censorship.
This GoFundMe aims to raise enough money to establish a center for FREE public lectures, educational seminars and debates held for the general good of the Canberra community. All funds will be put towards purchasing and renovating a community hall.
The hall will also be available for free use by clubs, students and religious groups. The theater can seat over 200 people and comes equipped with toilets and kitchen facilities.
The building is located at the end of Stokes Street, an easy stroll to the Manuka cafe district for coffee and further discussion after events.
