Manny “CalArts Saint of the Cafeteria”’s Send Off

Dear Fellow Calartians,
Over the years a large amount of us have come to know Manny. A staff member in the cafeteria that has consistently gone out of his way to encourage, support, and help us students along the way during our time at CalArts. Weather it be a smile, a few choice words or a kind gesture, Manny has been a secret blessing to our community for years and years. Some of us literally were able to eat only because of Manny.
Today I ran into him while back on campus and he informed me that he will be leaving California at the end of the week. As we talked and hugged it was clear how much impact CalArts and all of us have had on his life. He truly cares and has cared for the well being of all of us.
Without being too explicit in all the details of how he has helped out the community, Manny might as well have a donation plaque like some of the other big money donors at CalArts.
I thought it would be a nice to give something back to him as he transitions into the next phase of his journey.
So here’s a go fund me.
In a perfect world there would be a send off party where we could all bring tokens of our appreciation, but this might also be a kind gesture.
just something to signify our appreciation for him and acknowledge his impact on our calArts experience.
