Mama Rosie's Feed The Hungry Fund

$9,447 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 132 people in 7 months

Hi, my name is Rosie Soto, I live in Houston,  Texas and am a small business owner of a small catering company.  I do work in the community collecting food donations to then distribute out to the poor and the homeless. I have been working in the community helping out for several years mainly funding what I do out of my own pocket and with the help of a couple of smaller charitable organizations.

Houston has just experienced an extremely catastrophic hurricane and we are in dire need of food to sustain our first responders,  the victims of the hurricane and the homeless.
As people return to their homes, their will be more need for feeding recovery and relief crews.

Once the hurricane emergency needs are met, this fund will help Rosie with feeding the homeless.

Please consider donating and share this page with anyone you know that would like to support some very special people getting some super incredible nourishment.

For those that know Rosie, we would love to support her in this way as she has done this work for so long with no support and its time we help make her life easier as she does that for so many around her.

The funds will be used for typical operating costs for the preparation and distribution of meals.
Examples of costs are listed here:

Food ingredients: condiments, produce, canned goods, cooking oils etc.

Cooking supplies; pans, "green" takeout containers because we want to do this work as sustainably as possible, napkins,  plastic ware

Water filtration system so we can eliminate the use of plastic water bottles all together

Fuel for delivery vehicles

Eventual purchase and upkeep of a Food truck/Mobile Kitchen so we can more readily attain bigger quantities of donated food and distribute around the entire parameter of the city instead of just a few neighborhoods

Rosie is also available for catering and sells her amazing love waters by the gallon as well.    Her love waters are a healthy twist on the traditional aquas frescas.     https://www.facebook.com/sobeetit

Good afternoon everyone!!! I wanted to share a little update on the happenings as a result of your loving donations. I wish I could have posted sooner but as I focused on our hardest hit communities thus far, I stayed away from anything that wasn't food distribution related! We have been feeding upwards of 300 to 400 people on a daily basis with the help of a few volunteers. I am most graciously blessed to have received your support so that I could do this work. Your donations are being used as efficiently as possible so that I purchase the most wholesome and economical food ingredients. Rest assured your contributions are helping many many people people in need. There are multiple communities that have yet to receive FEMA or American Red Cross aid. It is because of you that I am able to do this work. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping out ♡♡♡
Please continue to send out the GoFundMe link so that we may garner as many contributions as possible.
May blessings be returned to you a thousand fold ♡

My friend Bonnie posted this today on Facebook and I thought I'd share it with you. I am humbled by her words <3

Thank you Bonnie ♡♡♡

" Please GIVE even if it is only $5, $10, $15. I understand that we don't all have much money. My donations have been on the small side because I am trying to give in a few directions as well as having limited funds to do so.

Rosie Soto was a more recent friend when she showed up to help me have one of my tag sales before I moved - of only 3 people in community who did this.

I watched her start this business from scratch, build it up, out of poverty, and still she was and is always helping others. Plus the entire focus on her foods is yummy HEALTHY.

Rosie brings amazingly healthy food to
people.

So please GIVE generously as you are able. "
