Making Things Bright for Twila

Donation protected
Twila Barr is a remarkable woman, who has hit a stretch of very rough road.  She's a single grandma who is raising 3 young grandkids, one who is disabled & nearly blind. Twila herself is battling her 2nd round of lung cancer. She's a regular at our church, where she is loved & respected for her faith, determination & willingness to do her best to care for her family.  She takes on odd jobs to make ends meet, & does all she can to pay her own way.  That's where this request begins. Twila had worked hard all week to clean some Mobile homes that were being refurbished.  Her boss paid her $50 a day & she did a good job in grimy conditions, even though she was fighting her illness.  When she finished, he paid her $600 in $100 bills. She went straight to the bank to deposit the money, so she could pay her rent just in time. The clerk had to break the news to her, "Your bills are all counterfeit."  She tried to find the man, but he had disappeared. Twila was dumbfounded & came straight over to the church office for advice, guidance & prayer.
We did our best to comfort & encourage her, then sent her to the police department, where an investigation is underway.  With tears in her eyes, she said "Pastor, I don't know what I'm gonna do, but I know I'll be OK, & that God will provide, He always does". I waited a few days, then asked her permission to start this Go Fund Me account. She was very hesitant, because she's not one to ask others to pay her way. I told  I understood & admired her attitude, but asked her to trust me to do this in the right way.  I told her I couldn't promise anything, except that I would do this with the respect she deserves. I said, "Let me just ask folks for a chance to hear your story & see if they are moved to help in some small way." She asked for a few days to pray about it, then gave me the go ahead.  More than the money, which she hopes to be able to use to bless someone else, once she gets caught up, I hope to show  Twila how many good, kind & caring people there are in this world...in spite of the few who have no qualms about cheating & hurting those who work hard to do their best. Even if you can't contribute, please take a moment to post an encouraging comment to this wonderful lady.
Thanks for keeping Twila & her family in your prayers.
