Mae's Road to Recovery

Mae Yahara is a mother, daughter, sister, aunt,  friend, teacher and physical therapist.  Mae has been faced with a huge obstacle in her health and will not be able to work for approximately 4 months.  Following routine blood work in January and multiple tests later, Mae was diagnosed  with  Unclassifiable  Myelodysplastic -Myeloproliferative neoplasm - a bone marrow disorder. She is going to be receiving a bone marrow transplant om December 9, 2016 thanks to a selfless donor through BeTheMatch.org.

Mae has always been a person who has helped many in their time of need and now she needs our help more than ever!  ANY amount would be appreciated - we hope to reach our goal to be able to  reduce the financial burden she faces. There will be many expenses that aren't covered by insurance. This account will allow her to focus on her recovery and relieve the stress of how she will make ends meet. Most importantly, please keep Mae in your thoughts and prayers; she will really appreciate that even if you aren't able to help financially.

Mae has always been there for me; being the "baby" of the family and she being the "oldest" I always could count on her!! She has given so much to me and I want to be able to be there for her! I can remember graduating from high school and she got me my very first 10 speed bike, and handed down her Chevy Vega to me when she got a new car! To our amazement she then she gave Bill and I our honeymoon to Disney in Florida and while living with her in Virginia she afforded me the opportunity of a life time to go to school and get my Physical Therapist Assistant degree!!
