Love for The Hill Family

Tyler and Ashley Hill became a family of three on March 11, 2019 as they welcomed their beautiful son, Arthur Cohan Hill into the world.

During the pregnancy, they were told at 20 weeks that Arthur had multiple underdevelopments and abnormalities, and they were unsure his life would be sustainable. From then on, they were in the hospital every week, until 37 weeks when he was born weighing 3.2 lbs and 15 inches long.

After a traumatic high risk pregnancy and a traumatic, under anesthesia, emergency c-section they have since been spending most of their hours in the Cincinnati Children's NICU at their son's bedside.

Arthur received abdominal surgery 16 hours after birth to repair an intestinal blockage. In doing so, they also discovered that he had only grown 1/4 his small intestine. In addition to this, they were told by the doctors that his eyes are underdeveloped and will function poorly, more than what glasses can correct. He has some hormone issues that are affecting his testosterone output and his private parts. Parts of his brain went with out oxygen for some time in utero and only time will tell what that means developmentally. He has a heart condition called BAV that is hereditary and will need to be watched. His jaw is underdeveloped which affects his ability to breath on his own. He is likely anemic. He is failing to grow at the rate the doctors would hope and they aren't sure why.

It has been 7 weeks of emotionally, spiritually, and mentally exhausting NICU parenting for Tyler and Ashley. 7 weeks of surgery,  blood draws, tubes, and beeping for Arthur.

Unfortunately, they do not currently have an end in sight. This is not what they expected and not what they asked for. It's hard hearing all of these things said about your sweet baby. However,  in their own words:

"The doctors don't get to write Arthur's story. God is the author and perfecter of his story and his life. We are so thankful to have such amazing doctors close by at such an amazing hospital, but we use their words as a stepping stone toward prayer. We will continue to walk in hope  and watch Arthur grow and shock the doctors. God's story is redemption and we will watch that unfold in Arthur's story. "

Tyler and Ashley are amazing parents and we'd love to be able to bless them financially so they can focus on their days with Arthur and not carry financial burdens in the midst of all of this.

At this point, Arthur's NICU bills should be completely covered (which is a huge gift!) but there are still many unknowns when it comes to his future care and what that will require of Tyler and Ashley. At this point they can't predict what working and caring for Arthur is going to look like.

As many of you know, Ashley works full time and loves her job. As they are trying to navigate what it will look like for her to do both, they're currently living on one income, and only have one car (which is likely unsustainable with all of the doctor appointments and such they will have moving forward).

We'd love if you would consider caring for Tyler and Ashley with your generosity financially as they navigate this challenging season of life with their sweet boy.

They are incredible people that have shown us so clearly what honesty, vulnerability, faith and hope in the Lord looks like in the midst of circumstances that are overwhelming and heavy. It is a gift to know them and this is another way we can show them how much we love them!
