LoveCareShare - Christmas Mission

$350 of $1,000 goal

Raised by 18 people in 3 months
Hey Everyone,

My Name is Sindu Varathan.

I am a working professional, single mom to a 4 year old with a passion to help people far and beyond. I am a Christian actively involved in my church. I am just a normal person like any of you :)

I was married for 6 years before becoming a single mom. My Single Mom journey for the past 4 years has taught me to appreciate the kindness and generosity of people in and around my life. Especially during the times of Christmas, when I wouldn’t have enough to buy new clothes or gifts for my toddler, I had helping hands from all over to ease me during that festive season. I remember during my teenage years, I skipped church especially during Christmas as I did not have decent clothes to wear during that festive season and I was a little embarrassed to step out of my home. The struggle is real. This year I want to help people that are going through a similar situation as me years back. My heart is for brightening up Christmas for people that are doing it tough this year.

I choose to call this a LOVECARESHARE MISSION – When we LOVE ENOUGH, we CARE ENOUGH to SHARE ENOUGH

Christmas is Jesus birthday. A day when we celebrate the birth of Jesus and rejoice that we have Hope for our futures. 2 days back when I was reflecting on this, I felt that God showed me this picture ‘Of me crazily running around to make my daughter’s 4th birthday as special as it can be for her. Of me trying to make note of every single thing that she liked and loved. Of me getting all those things that made her happy’. That moment I asked God ‘What would you like for Christmas Jesus? What will make you happy?’ Instantly I had this on my mind ‘Love, Compassion towards my people ‘

God is a God of compassion, love and throughout His life on His earth He has done nothing but GIVING it ALL OUT for US. I was challenged to do something for at least 100 people this Christmas. Touch their hearts and their families.  I had a season in my life when I was receiving. I believe this is the season God has called me to give. If you think I have loads of money that I have to give away to start this, you are wrong. I am just stepping out to what God called me to initiate and I am sure He will provide along the way

My request to you through this page is ‘Would you be willing to join me to brighten someone’s Christmas this year ‘? Be it a sick child, a struggling single mom or a family a need is a need.

I believe we can BE THE CHANGE that we want others to be. And it starts with Sharing WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE. It just takes a willing and compassionate heart to relate to the pain of others and care enough to share. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

If you can spare just your $4 a day/ coffee for this, that will make a huge difference. Well, that's just an idea.No amount is too big or small. Every cent matters and 100% of the money raised will be distributed to people in need.  A detailed summary of the amount and work will be provided at the end of this campaign. This campaign is only for 4 weeks and will be closing on Dec 13th 2017 so we have enough time to buy things we need to bless others, just in time for Christmas

I would encourage you to pray about it. If you feel this is your season of GIVING, go ahead and give what God has laid in your heart. If you feel this is your season to RECEIVE, send me a message about your story on one of my pages below to see how I can help you in this journey :)

Dear Friends,

WE DID IT !

Together, w e raised $350 which has been donated today to a local food organisation ' SecondBite' , who work with over 1,200 community food programs across Australia to redistribute rescued food to those in our community who need it most

The organisations they partner with make a real difference to people’s lives, providing food, support, hope and friendship

By providing surplus fresh, nutritious food, completely free of charge, they break down barriers to accessing healthy food.

In the 2015-2016 financial year, SecondBite provided the equivalent of 20 million meals to Australians doing it tough. From pantry style services, to community meals, soup kitchens and emergency relief hampers, they typically offer more than just a meal. Connecting people to their communities, linking in services and providing a safe space are just some of the ways that their partners help their recipients get back on their feet.

With around 2 million people experiencing food insecurity in Australia, hunger doesn't discriminate. The reasons behind this are complicated, and they strive to continue to actively support the right to a dignified existence for all Australians.

Check them out on https://www.secondbite.org/

Give yourself a BIG Pat for stepping out to do your small part of contributing whatever you can. With our $350 we have helped put 1400 healthy meals on empty plates ! That is HUGE !

May the Lord bless your Homes this Christmas as you continue to shine His light in all practical ways you can :) May 2018 be a year of overflowing and abundance for you and your families !

Take Care

Much Love and Blessings

Sindu :)

Massive thanks to the generous donations so far, both online and offline ! Words can’t express how thankful I am to have all your support ! Just a quick update ! I spoke to a local food charity organisation last week and they are so grateful to have our donations to bless people by feeding food.

Imagine your $1 providing 4 meals, $25 providing $100 meals and $100 providing 400 meals to the people in need ! How awesome is that !

If you haven’t had a chance to donate, please consider donating to bless someone hungry with food this Christmas. Only 18 more days before our campaign closes, to provide food just in time for Christmas

Hey Friends,

Massive thanks to all that are contributing and making this dream a reality !We are at 7:9% of our goal and slowly progressing . I am super proud that my 4 year old is also onboard with us. Hannah had listed her unused toys and we are selling them on our local platform. Hannah is happy to give that to this cause . As a 4 year old all that she understands is she is going to make someone happy this Christmas.

We often underestimate our potential and our ability to give. It’s the heart that matters.

Just visualise this. There is a big ship sailing in the sea which starts sinking suddenly. There are people thrown into the water without choice due to this catastrophy and people that manage to be safe on board, try to help that are sinking. If they know swimming some risk their lives, dive in and rescue people. If they don’t know swimming, they try to throw life boats at the people drowning so they can climb onto it and stay safe. Some try to get help calling services

This is just a metaphor and the situation in real life is more or less the same. We all sail in the same boat of life. Catastrophe strikes and people are thrown out of their comfort zone, without choice and into deep pits. I believe as a fellow human being it’s every person’s responsibility to help each other in need. If you are brave enough, jump onto the mission and take a leap challenging yourself to give your best. If you are unsure, throw a life boat which could be a small donation, insignificant for you but massive significance for those in need.

The decision is yours today. It could be the greatest feeling this Christmas that you have helped brighten someone’s Christmas this year. One coffee, $4 is all it takes. Little drops make a mighty ocean. Never underestimate what our little drop of $4 could do to impact a persons life in a positive way.

Thanks for joining me on this journey ! If you haven’t and you are reading this, welcome abroad !

When Perception Overrides Perspective...

Let your perspective of things not affect the way you perceive things in the present. Let your perspective be based on what you perceive in the present world. When reality hits hard, one needs to let go of their perspective of things and embrace perceiving things just the way they are to find a way out.

Perspective according to the dictionary can be defined as ‘ a particular attitude towards or a way of regarding something. A point of view

Perceive could be defined as the ability to recognize, discern or understand.

Say for example, each of us view life from our own perspective, contributing factors could be our age, culture, family, life circumstances and possibly a lot more. For example from a new mom’s perspective life could be both exciting and exhausting at the same time, a students perspective on life could be both adventurous and sometimes boring, a working mom’s perspective on life could be both rewarding and sacrificial.. the list goes on.. The point here is if you need to understand a new mom’s perspective on life, you need to perceive life through the eyes of a new mom to really understand their view point on why they feel and act a certain way

Looking at things from a new perspective can change your perception of things. And when we do that, we learn to appreciate each other’s differences in the most gracious way.

Now let’s talk about life.

Sadly, most of our perspectives about life is driven by the desire of owning a massive big house, luxury car, having a successful career and expensive holidays. When we have achieved all these things, from our perspective we consider ourselves living a successful life.

Unfortunately what we fail to perceive is that’s not the case at all. We terribly fail at seeing things the way they are in real life. When we tear down the fake perspectives we have in life, we will be able to perceive , recognise and understand the reality we are living in

Today I want you to reconsider your perspective on GIVING. Giving not just money, but giving your time, giving your love, giving your resources to someone who really needs it, it starts with you, your family, your neighbours, your community and the circle spreads far and wide.

Break your traditional GIVING perspectives ‘I  don’t have enough to give’ , ‘I just can’t afford to give right now ‘or ‘ that’s not my job to give ‘

Open your eyes and perceive the REAL NEED in front of you. There are people struggling not for their ‘wants’ but for their basic ‘needs’ , food, clothing and shelter. Even if we can’t feed or clothe a whole nation, I am sure we can do the least of what we can.

I hope this message encourages you one step closer to your giving. All I want to say is the need is real, the struggle is real. Join me to break this traditional perspective of ‘You need to be someone BIG to start a movement to bless others ‘. Let’s join hands together to bless 100 people this Christmas.

If you are ready to partner with me today, please click on the below and donate today. No amount is too big or small but all that I ask is $1 from each person reading this post ! Together we can make a different and Be the change the world is eagerly waiting for
