Hi. I'm Lori McEwen and I'm running for East Greenwich School Committee to fill the two year term recently vacated by David Osborne.

I have worked in education my entire adult life. Having been a teacher, school and district leader, education researcher, and consultant – I have a deep understanding of what makes great schools work. I want to put this knowledge and experience
to use for our school system – and that's why I'm running for School Committee in East Greenwich.
I also have two children in East Greenwich public schools, so this is personal for me. My husband, Brian, and I moved to EG when our kids, Michael and Tiernan, were entering 2nd and 1st grade respectively. They've grown up in this system and we are grateful for the education they've received. I want to make sure we continue a tradition of excellence and continuous improvement, especially as we prepare our children for a world of work that looks decidedly different from what we entered.
I also want to make sure that each and every student is engaged deeply and joyfully in learning and that all parents and families feel valued and included.
For the past 25 years, I’ve dedicated my life to improving education for all children–and I want to continue that service.
I want to work for you and for our children--and I need your help in order to serve. I'm asking for both your vote on November 8th and for whatever help you can offer my campaign: yard signs, talking to friends and neighbors on my behalf, inviting me to your home to meet your friends and answer their questions. And, of course, I'm asking for contributions so that I can run a strong campaign.
With your help, we can make East Greenwich schools even better for all of our children.
