Loosen The Bible Belt Tour Funds

Play a role in making the South a better place for the LGBT community by helping fund the Loosen The Bible Belt Tour this year.  Comedian Kristen Becker (founder of the Dykes Of Hazard comedy troupe) and Pastor Jay Bakker (son of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker and founder of Revolution Ministries) will be bringing their unique perspectives to a traveling stand-up show visiting 15 cities across the South during the spring and summer of 2015.  The duo brings much-needed levity to the struggle to  set the LGBT community on an equal footing with the rest of society.  It is certain to be entertaining, eye-opening, and thought provoking.  Your contribution will go towards tour expenses (food, lodging, gas) with any extra going to advocacy group partners.  If we reach 10K it would allow the team to make a documentary of their tour.   Check the link for tour dates and merch and bios for Kristen, Jay, and other guests that will be joining them.   I've known Kristen Becker for a few years now and have seen how she can bring light to a sensitive subject.  Her audience, which is typically composed of gay and straight, religious and non-religious people, can often seem tense and serious until she takes the stage.  Using her charisma, humor, and life experience she leaves the entire room laughing and feeling a little bit better about themselves and humanity in general.  I strongly believe that this tour will do exactly what it intends to do.  It will loosen the Bible Belt, and hopefully make room for a more tolerant society.  It's time to open our hearts, homes,  and churches to all of our fellow human beings.
