The Lone Tree Project

Donation protected
The Lone Tree project is designed to raise money for the purchase and replanting of a replacement cotton wood tree. The infamous Lone Tree has seen better days and due to high winds and broken limbs, will likely die or need to be removed fairly soon.

But you cannot have Lone Tree Road without a Lone Tree! Money raised will go toward a 20-24 ft. cottonwood tree, installation, historic marker (assuming application is approved by NE Historic Society), a wrought iron fence for protection, and a few shrubs and perennials for landscaping. For liability reasons, a new tree cannot be planted in the same location in the middle of the road; as such, the new site will be directly southwest of the existing tree on the corner and will be kept from obstruction of the road and vision for drivers. Any extra funds raised will be donated to the Musbach Museum in Scribner. Please help us keep the history of Lone Tree alive!! Thank you!
