Lil 4s - A Place to Call Home

Lil 4’s Kids Club in Sulphur Springs, Texas needs your help and $30,000 to buy a permanent building.

My name is Letitia Conliffe, founder of Lil 4’s Kids Club. In case you’re new to the Lil 4’s story, we are a 501c3 nonprofit organization year-round school program that seeks to reach and teach potentially at risk children, and to provide a positive and safe atmosphere to help shape and guide their future endeavors in life. The organization currently has 58 students, ages 2 to 18, enrolled in the program. The primary objective of the Lil 4’s Kids Club is to provide children with educational and enrichment activities that give them an opportunity to develop confidence, to feel valued, and to set/accomplish their dreams.

All services provided to the children are free of charge. The following are a few services provided to children in our care:

- Tutoring
- Free snacks/meals
- College tours
- Family night
- Mentor program
- Field trips
- King & Queen Ball

Right now, we’re in a position to buy the building we’ve called home for 2 years.  We have $70,000 read to go thanks to the generosity of donors who believe in our mission, but we need $30,000 more to close and make our home permanent.  This would be a dream come true for us! If we can’t raise the $30,000, we’ll have to relocate.

To give you an idea of what we spend money we’ve raised so far on, our current monthly minimum operating cost is about $2,800 which includes rent, lights, water, telephone and internet, insurance, gas, food, and supplies. This doesn’t include the fun things we like to do with the kids like field trip and events.

In 2018, we also incurred the following unexpected costs - a leaking roof at $2,000, air conditioning at $3,000, insulation at $3,500, and exterminator at $2,000, and plumbing at $1,000.

We do our best to keep costs low, and owning our building outright would make a major difference in what we’re able to provide for the kids. We’ll post updates here so you’ll stay up to date on our progress. The money from this GoFundMe is being sent right to the Lil’ 4’s bank account.
