In the last 3 months of "recovery following the September 13 Columbia Gas explosions of the Merrimack Valley, Fior Diaz and her family of now 6 have been forced to move at least 7 times, an entire family with young and newborn children obligated relocate inadequate emergency housing arrangements 7 times, denied safe appropriate housing options for now 15 weeks,
as the Columbia Gas Company, the City of Lawrence, and the State of Massachusetts,
in coordination,
declare normalcy.

Columbia Gas’ Final* Housing* Accommodation*, a Hotel in Andover, with multiple threats/warnings/reminders that reservation is temporary. (Initially told only 1 week long.)

The details of many Lawrence families’ experience with company’ and city’s recovery operations are shaking.
We are Calling for attention onto the Insurance Company also Responsible for Responding.

Fior's move in costs will total at least $4500 covering First Month’s Rent, Last Month’s Rent, and Security Deposit.

The twins are currently ill, having just been moved again from of the Columbia Gas trailers, where there they experienced dangerous heat irregularities and poor ventilation.

An unaffordable housing market in Lawrence Massachusetts continues to collapse on us all, making difficulty for Fior’s family to secure an apartment—consistently facing discrimination on several basis.

A flurry of Financial support from connected individuals has been supportive as we face the horrific conditions created by the crisis, rings of details and cases which the Columbia Gas Company and City and State refuse to be accountable for. Their responses and denials have caused harm and instability, and to this particular family, continue to endanger the lives of their new. born. children in delicate health, and comprise this family’s livelihood.

Capacity at our local shelters continues to be inundated and insufficient. Undocumented families’ lives also facing dangers, minimal legal protection+mostly legal dangers. Lawrence City Firemen recently brought coats to a local middle school, understanding severity of many family’s *financial situations at this time, following the explosions (which they are full witness to).

Thank you to the people who have shared and who have organized

These are unacceptable. dangerous. life threatening conditions.

Again, Fior’s move in costs will total at least $4500. And we would like to pay a landlord 6mo rent in advance to secure it. That is what we’re looking at. You can also send money for a bottle warmer, and formula, which is also urgently needed.

Their wishes are to have secured and moved in to a home for the holidays.

We demand that all parties responsible: Columbia Gas, the City of Lawrence, and the State of Massachusetts, match this move in cost -immediately.

We are in search of Reporters to do journalist JOB.
Legal services also necessary.

If you are a landlord with an available 3 bedroom apartment in the Merrimack Valley, please get in touch.
