Lauren's 16th Birthday Wish

Tax deductible
There are two types of people in this world, dog people and cat people. Anybody who tells you that they don't like either is a liar. Everybody likes one or the other.
My name is Lauren, and I am a dog person. This summer, on July 31st, I will be turning 16 years old.
Back in January, my mother and I suffered a sad loss of our dog, Molly. We had a bad experience with the shelter we had gotten her from and were only able to have her for a couple weeks. It was devastating. My mother wasn't sure when, or if, she would be getting another dog. And for dog people like us, that's a scary thought.
But, one day my mom noticed an animal rescue set up outside of her local PetSmart. The rescue organization was called Follow Your Heart. She went over to just look at the puppies they had there and she was instantly overcome with love for a border collie puppy they had just recently gotten, named Precious. That was it. My mother HAD to have her. Although she is a monster majority of the time, I have to admit, I'm glad my mom did because Precious (now named Abby) is the most loving and playful puppy you'll meet. And Follow Your Heart has offered every service and aid they could possibly help with. We havent had to lift a single finger for them to help us and all of the members have been warm and welcoming as if everyone is one big happy family.
So, instead of asking for a car or money or makeup, I'm asking everybody to donate to Follow Your Heart for my birthday as my way of saying thank you. The people there work so hard to make sure all of their rescues are happy by providing every dog with a foster home instead of a shelter. They set up tents and booths and crates every Saturday for adoptions while managing to maintain all of their health.
This is a group of people that understands the importance of treating animals right with not only food and shelter, but warmth and love. This is a group of people who understands the importance of animal companionship to humans.
Every penny helps and I send each and every one of you a warm thank you and I hope that you have the chance to have a dog touch your heart the way that mine have.
