Lauren Lane Powell ~ In Memory Of

Donation protected
Lauren Lane Powell was my sister, my best friend, my favorite person to sing and play with and my spiritual compadre. Lauren's Website Above is the last picture taken of her. The night before she passed, I couldn't think of the melody to No Man is an Island so she grabbed a napkin and wrote out the notes using the back of a kleenex box for stability. Music was her life!
She was diagnosed with Ovarian cAnswer (as she calls it) in 2012. After going through chemo dreamo (another of her reframing/renaming ideas) three times, doing cancer diets, all the metaphysical, spiritual and positive mindset 'work', plus a new drug out of trial phase but on August 16th 2018 she was told she had 12 to 18 months to be here on the planet with us. She made her transition January 25th at 4am. 5 months! Not expecting that.

For 7 years she had the determination to heal and she really LIVED! But was not able to earn income anywhere near what she had been contributing to the household income of she and her husband, Phil.
I'm asking for everyone who's been loved by her, who loves her, who's been touched by her music, her laughter, her way, to contribute to help Phil with remaining expenses.
Lauren said: "I'm wrapping my head and heart around what it means to shift from 'how do I get through this and live?' - to 'how can I die well, in love and in allowing and in a way that gives people a glimpse of how you can marry hope with acceptance?" She shared her entire experience on FaceBook with daily posts like: Staying Positive does not mean that things will turn out okay. Rather, it is knowing that YOU will be okay no matter how things turn out. She wanted to live yet she was determined to love every minute of her dying ...or hate it - that's the point - she was present and invited us all to be present with her.
Lauren was out of work since her first diagnosis, in 2012 though she remained very active writing songs for the world and for Threshold Choirs; an organization she embraced and participated in that sings at bedside for those making their own transition. She left us all the legacy of music by compiling all her lyrics, recordings and sheet music with the help of her other musical soul mate, Phyllis Wickliff.
She wrote a book called Holy Shift, Everything's a Gift about the first quarter of her journey from the first diagnosis and first chemo into health. Below is a set of pictures that were taken early, from her first round and she came back to near full health 3 times!

If you are able to help, you will ease the ongoing expenses that she is no longer able to contribute to.
