We're raising money to purchase forest and farmland, that is at risk of being developed or destroyed. This means beautiful trees, some over one-hundred years old, gone in the space of a day. Fields that are a natural habitat for so many animals, paved over in the blink of an eye.
We believe that saving our forests is important to curbing climate change. People often forget, that trees reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere.
Decades ago, a small group of us bought several acres of land adjoing each other, with the idea that we would save it from destruction. We hoped to continue this effort as more land came up for sale, but in recent years, land prices in our area have sky-rocketed. We can no longer afford it ourselves. Many of the individuals involved in buying and selling the land, have no interest in conservation.
There's tons of animals that live here. Everything from bluebirds and deer, to threatened and endangered species, like marsh hawks and disease free bats, that also rely on this natural paradise.
Rare and precious marshlands, forest, fields, streams and brooks are part of this beautiful home to so many different species. Too much has already been destroyed, but we are determined to save the rest.

Every Penny we raise goes towards the purchase price of the land, nowhere else. We fund all other costs ourselves, and receive no financial reimbursement.
