Lakewood Wants to Vote on Growth
Donation protected
For years, the community voice in Lakewood, Colorado has been muzzled by developers, each with tens of thousands of dollars to finance election of their City Council puppets in an attempt to change the nurturing character of our neighborhoods.
In response, our community circulated a petition that would slow the rampant growth rate while ensuring a diverse stock of housing to serve every member of our community. The petition qualified for the ballot and was eagerly supported by thousands of voters who invested their time and energy to restore their voice.
Now the developers want to purchase our right to vote, spending thousands on a lawsuit and expensive campaigns to thwart the community’s right to vote on this successful grass-roots petition.
Please help us take back control of our own future and ensure that our children grow up with plenty of fresh air with abundant open spaces, diverse neighborhoods and less crowded schools.
Your donations will enable us to defend our right to vote and fight for our grass roots initiative, protecting our parks, open space and community.
To comply with campaign finance laws, donations over $20 must include name and address. Donations of $100 or more must include name, address, occupation and employer.
