Fenrir's Vet treatment

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Janet I am 21 years old and I live in Clinton, Oklahoma. My boyfriend Joshua & I both decided that we wanted my dog Chloe, who is a chihuahua, to get a friend around the house. He was at work all day & I was always busy and we both felt bad just having her be all alone. Not only that but I have wanted a new puppy for awhile now because I love dogs, all kind of dogs. So On October 28th, 2014 (My birthday) we decided to look for one. We found one and gave ourselves some time to think about this for sure. In the end we decided yes we could, we were making steady enough income to be able to take care of ourselves & the dogs.

Hence Fenrir joined our small family, my boyfriend named him off a character on SMITE. Please by all means judge him. But the only problem was we didn't expect him to be really sick, when we got him as a puppy he was healthy and playful and nothing looked wrong on him.

[This is Fenrir after he tired himself out chewing up on cardboard from the move]

The breeder who gave us the puppy explained he only had fleas and worms, she provided us with nothing to help him we had to buy the medicine ourselves. After taking him to the vet, buying him a flear collar & of course all the things a dog needs (A cage, bowls, food, toys etc) the flea's were gone in one week and the worms were gone in a few months. We thought all our problems were gone. We found out shortly after we dealed with the worms that he had Mange, the kind that comes from Mother to pup. The breeder said nothing of that, but we suspect she didn't know either.

Now to explain a little bit more on Mange so that you understand it a bit (Obviously you want to know what you are putting your money into). Mange is a skin disease caused by several species of tiny mites, common external parasites found in companion canines. Some mange mites are normal residents of your dog’s skin and hair follicles, while others are not.  All mites can cause mild to severe skin infections if they proliferate.
All dogs raised normally by their mothers possess demodectic mange mites (Demodex canis), which are transferred from mother to pup via cuddling during the first few days of life. Most dogs live in harmony with their mites, never suffering any consequences.
If you want to read more on it you can read about it right here .

We took him to the vet a few times and got medicine for him that helped him a bit, we bought special medical dip for him because it was spreading all over his body slowly still we wanted to make sure to contain it. We managed to contain the mange, so we believed, because his hair on his head and certain areas were returning( As well as scabs, scratch marks etc were healing).
Then we noticed that possibly it was getting worse because he started chewing up his paws and legs. We didn't have anymore money to afford to spend after taking him to vet already and buying medicine after medicine for him to continue taking him to the vet to find out what else is wrong & if we can treat it. We have been relying on whatever medicine we can afford at the time to help him but it's clearly not working.

We figure this can't be the mange anymore because if so our other dog Chloe would have recieved the mange too, and we would have noticed because she has such thin hair. We think it might be some kind of allergic reaction to the medicine but of course we are no Doctors/Veterinarians.

I stream a lot on Twitch.TV, so I figured maybe I could try to use that & Gofundme.com now to help get donations to help my puppy. Please, his name is Fenrir he's only about 4/5 months old. He's a German Shepard/Husky mix and we love him dearly. We aren't asking for alot, just enough to pay for a vet visit and any extra medical expenses. I would like to also include that 10% of the money donated here will go towards The Animal Rescue Corps, you can find their site here: http://animalrescuecorps.org/

I know it's not alot to give to the ARC, but we give what we can.

I don't want to guilt you into anything, I want all of you to do it because you feel it's what you think is right. This is your money & your choice, but as a Pet Owner, I really love this dog. As much of a butt he is to us by trying to steal our food, get ontop of counters, and wondering what the heck a cat is; he's part of our family. In the words of Lilo & Stitch "Ohana means family and family means nobody gets left behind, or forgotten."
