Hunter Skrzycki 4-H Conf - Wash DC

Hunter Skrzycki is an active eight year 4-H member from La Vernia in Wilson County, Texas. He is excited to have the opportunity to attend the 2015 Texas 4-H Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. from Nov 26 to Dec 1.
Hunter is a member of the Bluebonnent 4-H Club currently serving as 1st Vice President. He is also on the Wilson 4-H Council currently serving as Secretary. His projects include Meat Goats, Breeding Goats, Turkeys, and Lambs. He also competes at Poultry Judging at Texas 4-H State Roundup competitions. His recordbook in Goats placed first at the State recordbook judging which qualified him for this amazing opportunity.
Hunter is also an active member of the FFA competing in team events, playing Varsity Soccer, as well as running JV Cross Country. He is the 16 year old son of Julie Skrzycki and Gary Skrzycki.
Texas 4-H Leadership Conference is great opportunity for Texas 4-H members to enhance leadership and life skills. The goals of the Conference are:
· Youth will understand the importance of American History as it relates to citizenship in youth;
· Youth will gain an understanding of government and how it operates;
· Youth will gain an understanding of the arts and how they can shape young minds;
· Teach youth about the importance of leadership through experiential leadership in the Nation’s Capital;
· Youth utilize networking skills as a tool to meet new people and share experiences.
The trip is a combination of sight-seeing, specifically to national monuments and museums; attending a cultural venue either at the Kennedy Center or Ford’s theatre; and visiting legislative officials. A memorable part of the event is visiting Arlington National Cemetery, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and observing the Changing of the Guard. Every effort is made to make this a memorable and meaningful cultural experience, in addition to providing a leadership enhancing program for our youth.
Your support in assisting Hunter raise the necessary funds for this trip would be greatly appreciated.
