Thank you for stopping by to look .we have several veterans that served our country that I visit weekly downtown St. Louis that have needs . I work full time at two jobs and volunteer a lot . I do what needs to be done but due to driving back and forth from where I live to where they are all scattered over the city I have to concentrate on one location now that is like a tent village. I need to get a bunch of stuff for them like a back up generator , fresh water supplied, underwear etc.....I have plenty of food for them and regular supplied donations of clothes but some need personal stuff to get jobs etc.... Thanks again for reading this!

Once again I want to say thank you to each and every person that has donated food, clothing, furniture, and money to help our veterans in need of help. I had started this with the hopes of just getting one man or woman off the streets of St. Louis . But with all the support coming in we are getting more out of harms way than I could ever imagine!!! I have many more updates to post this week when I am off from both jobs . But on a sad note , I regret to inform you all if you had not heard by now of the passing of a resident of the camps this past Friday afternoon . I called him hardware as many of his friends also did . He was not a veteran ,but I treated him with pride , honor , dignity and respect as I do with all of our veterans . He was as many of them do just trying to survive and keep warm in his tent .he always had a smile for ya and tried to keep a positive outlook on life . Pastor Paul will have a memorial service for him on Thursday evening so please watch my updates for more info . And once again I thank you ALL.

I am amazed by what we are getting done with all of this and humbled. Last Friday night one of our homeless vets got her apartment , so they were so excited they couldn't wait for me to get off work to go HOME so off they went ! Cross town with a few clothes backpacks and sleeping bags. Needless to say the next morning I arrived with tv, towels , pots and pans , and looked around the apartment . They are so happy and both have jobs ! Well I opened the fridge and saw ice trays and that was it . So we loaded up in my truck and headed to Aldis . When we got there I gave em a quarter and said you got 5 minutes to get all you need for a few days get it in the cart go ......they started out running but slowed down after 2minutes spending a lot of time looking at meats and looking at the cheaper packs and tossing them in the cart ! Lol I'm following them around talking outloud tick tick tick TICK... Times up . They barely had half a cart ! But they were happy with what they had ! Being the joker that I am I was following them loading up a cart with enough food for two months . I put together a food basket that we give out for our veterans during the holidays from the American legion riders 313 old town St. Peter's ! They asked what army I was going to feed with all that ? Well over 30 bags later we got it all in the truck and I drove em home , they unloaded their bags and asked if I needed help dropping off the rest of the bags for vets ! I said nawwwwwww I got it and we already here so help me take em in ya house lol . Their faces were priceless. Anyways ....... I know a lot of people asked about furniture , clothes , and what do they need ? Please find the group operation hots(heroes on the street) on Facebook ! You can list what you have and I will get the crew together and organize a pickup for ya . Please be aware we are a small group now trying to do this and answering calls and emails of which we get many from st Louisians wanting to help our vets !! God bless thank you and will update weekly on here too !

Thank you all that have and are donating . First of all I never asked for this story to be told I have been doing this for over 19 years in many diffrent states I was recommended for this story on the news by a friend I was just one of those annonomous faces in the crowd that just showed up did my thing and left. Just to let everyone know that figure was just a guesstimate when I started this thing out. So anything does help . It goes toward , food , gas , clothing or whatever maintenance I need on the truck getting supplies down to the guys and gals at the camp. Right now I am preparing to see if pops from the story will stay with me if and when they decide to close the camp . He has one pair of pants barely any undergarments and one pair of kinda tight shoes. I am shopping today for a bed frame , bed dresser nightstand and a host of other things for his room . The rest of the things he may need I will let him shop for at the stores on his own. So any donation is a big deal for the veterans that I see down there . Thank you all so very much for remembering to never forget or leave no vet behind .........al ! Ps thank you kmov news 4 and Steve Harris for coming downtown and covering the story and helping us out ! I will continue to help and do what I can because they are not only homeless for the holidays they are homeless all year round!
