Hello,
I have been selected to Volunteer for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
I am a retired Physical Education Teacher with a part-time job at Lowes in Greenville, SC. My income will help with expenses, but airfare will be aprroximately $1,700 and the workforce at Pyeong Chang has asked all volunteers to stay for both the Olympics and Paralympics. We will need to pay for lodging and food the 7 days between games. That week will cost approximately $1,000.
Other expenses such as luggage, shots, passport, winter clothing, souveniers, sightseeing, etc...I will pay with my own income. Airfare will be the largest cost that I am trying to offset- if anyone would like to help cover this cost.
I have been selected out of a very small group, approximately 16,200 people from S. Korea were selected, 5,000 from another large group, and that leaves only about 1,000 from the rest of the world.
I am honored to represnt the USA and I'm confident our teams will make our country proud!
