Kambalda Animal Rescue Cat Shelter

This whole process story began when we met Dribbles.

Dribbles was an abandoned cat, the owners had moved out of their house and SOLD IT - leaving her living in the backyard with the Real Estate feeding her until the new owners moved in.
Luckiyl for Dribbles, my friend moved into the house and discovered this living arrangement and immediately rang me asking what she was meant to do.
I said I would come get the cat and take her to the vet, as my friend was brand new to town and a FIFO worker - so she wouldn't be home enough to keep her anyway!

The vet found no microchip but the cat - estimated to be 5-7 years old, was in great condition and desexed, so clearly at one stage anyway, a beloved pet.
It was confirmed that the cat was abandoned by the previous owners so there we were.
Me and Dribbles and no idea what we were going to do.

We advertised her and found her a new home and almsot immediately had another person get in contact with us about another abandoned cat.
Another one I hear you say? I know - but it started a landslide of information from people who saw that we cared enough to help and BAM! All of a sudden, we were the go-to people.
It has since grown and developed and become something that is quite breath taking when you consider we have just been doing this as a hobby for the previous 2 years and we have managed to help so many.

Now we want to expand.

Our goal is to be able to get some concrete pads down and then build an outdoor cat run area for foster cats or dogs that will allow people to humanely give up their animals and allow those animals a second chance.
No more dumping them in the bush - no more tying them to a tree for someone else to find - no more moving out and leaving them in the backyard to turn feral.
We are just here to help and all we want to do is give desperate people and their animals an option that they do not feel is possible (as a lot of people associate guilt and euthanasia with leaving their animals at the Pound.)

We would love to be able to raise enough funds to have a concrete pad down by March and then continue to raise the required funds to build the actual cages by June 2016.

I love the Coolgardie Shire and have enjoyed my time here so much, all I want to do is give back to the community that has done so much for us.
