About 1.8 million children in the Philippines are “abandoned or neglected” according to the United Nations’ Children’s Rights & Emergency Relief Organization. Please take a moment to let that number sink in… 1.8 million innocent children….in the Philippines alone.
If you, like me, believe that children should be protected from physical, sexual and psychological abuse, and that those who are, should be rescued and given a better chance at life, then I urge you to make a difference.

Kalipay is a non-profit foundation working for the causes of disadvantaged children – the homeless, abandoned, neglected, malnourished, physically and sexually abused, victims of child labor and trafficking, and foundlings. It hopes to break the cycle of hopelessness in the children’s lives by providing basic needs such as shelter, food, clothing and medicines and by introducing them to education, health care and counseling. The foundation supports various homes and projects that aim to heal the emotional scars of abused children and give them a chance to live a much better and happier life.
Kalipay, is an Ilonggo word that means “joy.” This is our dream for all the abused children who have experienced so much pain and sorrow at such an early age. If you have ever considered helping abused children, now is the best opportunity to do it.
Kalipay is fully maintained by donors and any donation, large or small will make a difference in the lives of these children.
So please donate & support us in raising as much funds as possible to help Kalipay change these children´s lives.
Your donation will go towards:
1. Providing some of the basic necessities on the Foundation´s wishlist http://kalipay.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/WISHLIST.jpg
2. Supporting in the coverage of a child´s basic needs ((social, medical and/or educational).
For USD 15/EURO 13 per month, a child´s basic needs can already be met. It takes USD 400/ EURO 360 to cover a child´s educational cost per year.
3. Finally we are also hoping to be able to present the homes in Bacalod with some small Christmas presents, so these kids can experience the Joy of Christmas.
Any donations in kind (´in natura´- like items of the wishlist or small gifts for Christmas) are also more than welcome. We will personally be taking them to the Philippines during our next trip in December.

We will be buying the gifts in the next couple of weeks and bring them in December ourselves.
