“Page a Firefighter Program”
It’s that time of the year again when Bunn Rural Fire Department will hold its annual BBQ fundraiser March 12th 11 AM until. Each year we reach out to our community members for donations. This year all funds raised will go toward replacing our pagers.
When someone dials 911 to report an emergency the 911 operator then pages out the fire department to have us respond. In order for a firefighter to be notified of an emergency they must carry a pager. Our volunteers carry their pagers everywhere including home, work and even inside burning buildings. The normal person gets two years of use out of a cell phone if they take care of it before it is completely worn out. Unlike a cell phone our pagers get used for approximately 10 years before they are discarded. This year our annual BBQ fundraiser will raise funds for our “Page a Firefighter Program”.
