STACY GOODWIN'S FIGHT
My name is Gary Goodwin. I have been married to my wife Stacy for 23 wonderful years, with 2 kids, Rebecca 22 and Gregory 15.
It was discovered in October 2011 that Stacy carries the BRCA 1 cancer gene. Unfortunately, in February 2012, she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.
For the next 3 1/2 years she would have multiple surgeries, including a hysterectomy, mastectomy, omentum removal surgery, along with multiple complications, withstanding 7 different types of chemo, all the while being told of the cancer spreading.
For those of you who do not know her, she is absolutely the bravest woman you will ever know.
She has fought incredibly hard for 3 1/2 years, treatment after treatment, always courageous, always with a smile, never for a second giving up hope. She has been my inspiration as well as everyone whose lives she's touched, and has made me a much stronger person because of her strength, her love for life and will to survive.
But now Stacy is truely fighting for her life. And anyone who knows her knows she will never give up hope.
We have a donation goal of $12k. All money raised will be to recover lost wages, illness related debt, lingering medical expenses, and most likely future expenses as most of our savings have been depleted.
If we do not reach our goal, that will be ok. We will appreciate anything that is recieved.
We have never been ones to ask for help. Any and all help will be forever appreciated. I will post nightly updates regarding Stacy's health.
