Justice for Gigi Potocki

Gigi is a victim advocate for the Onondaga County DA's Office and has dedicated her life to helping others both professionally & personally. The abuser of a DV victim that Gigi helped turned out to be connected. He is the son of one of the DA's investigators. As a result of Gigi helping this woman, the son was arrested and the investigator began to harass Gigi, threaten her & eventually wrongfully terminated her. In January, after a year & a half of litigation, the arbitrator's decision came back exonerating her, ordering the county to reinstate her with backpay and clearing her name, which was most important to her. Every step of the way her office has managed to prolong the arbitration, trying to "starve her out", offering her backpay over & over as long as she signed a non-disclosure agreement with absolutely no regard for the well being of her or her children. Sadly, they keep offering her backpay because they know she's done nothing wrong and they're trying to cover up what's been done to her. It's been almost 4 months and they still refuse to comply with the court order hoping that Gigi will give up. She has been working a temporary job but it's not enough to deal with the astronomical debt this has caused, not to mention it could take months before she is reinstated & receives any money. Gigi has 5 kids including her Goddaughter that she now has custody of. Anybody that knows Gigi knows that she is always there for everyone else from just being there to listen to offering her home when they've had no where else to go. It's been a long and extremely difficult ordeal for Gigi to do the right thing and follow through, we're very proud of her and want her to continue to fight for what's right.
