Justice for Dr. RICHARD LOMOTEY

Donation protected
The Ghana Community of Pittsburgh and the entire Union of African Communities of Southwestern Pennsylvania stand together to support Richard Lomotey, 36, a Pennsylvania resident, originally from Ghana, who was arrested on May 11 and charged with two counts of Kidnapping, False imprisonment and Harassment while driving for Uber on the side.  A hearing is scheduled for June 26.

Dr. Richard Lomotey is a highly regarded Assistant Professor at Penn State University Beaver. His area of focus is creating mobile medical self-assessment tools that can be used by ordinary people with limited access to medical care. He envisions that the tools in the hands of tech savvy patients can help reduce unnecessary doctor visits.  This will bring balance to doctor-patient ratio and reduce the overall burden on healthcare facilities. His research is good for our health.

Anyone who has had dealings with Dr. Lomotey will attest to the fact that he is a decent person and the allegations against him are shocking.  Fortunately,  according the US Constitution,  "Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent  until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defense."

Dr. Lomotey is one of us and we, the Ghana Community in Pittsburgh, have decided that the best way to ensure that he is treated as fairly as the Constitution promises is to support him financially, emotionally and through prayers. Therefore, we are launching this campaign to  help our brother with the financial resources he needs  to defend his innocence.

Thank you so much for your support.
