My problems began with a consistent reduction in available work & low pay.
Our problems began with bedroom tax they will end with homelessness.
The house I had lived in, and made a home for fourteen yearswas suddenly denied to me.
We downsized.
Did things get better?
No they didn’t.
Zero hour contracts. Job insecurity, my NHS health and social care career came to an abrupt end.
It gets worse.
Two bereavements three months apart tore my family apart.
If I cannot raise £1000 by Christmas - it’s likely I’ll lose my home completely & the twenty odd years I’ve built as a secure council/housing association tenant. The last three years have destroyed me and my family financially & emotionally in every way.
Despite receiving help from friends and family we only move from one hellish scenario to another. I want a chance to keep my home. I retain that I keep my son with me. I’ll be able to live up to what I keep telling him that everything will be ok. I have never had to lie to any of my kids. Either I take a chance & throw myself out there to you in the hope you can & will want to help me..the smallest act of selfless giving right now would floor me.
Or I hide away feeling as low as I do and we go under anyway.
My son will bear witness to our homelessness as he has everything else. ‘A GoFundMe Page’ is a last resort. I’ve never done anything like this. But staying with my son is the most important thing in my life.
The kindness & generosity of others can be ‘paid forward’ to help someone else, someone beyond me & my son..perhaps the next single Mum on her last legs who just needs propping up a-while as she regains her balance properly. I need some help..help I can share and share again..that’s all I have to offer in return. I’ll pay it forward.
