Jupiter DIY Final Push

Hello!

We hope 2017 is starting off greatly for everyone, We want to thank everyone that donated to our first round of funding and helping us get so far, We have grown so much as a venue, idea and ethos. We want to fill you in on what we will be doing at jupiter diy, how we will impact the community, what we need in terms of donations from our community for us to provide a home for artists and groups to meet and showcase their art

what is jupiter diy:

jupiter diy is an artist community based in the west bottoms of Kansas City, a district growing exponentially in size and income every year, we are happy to welcome and represent artists in this growing community.

We offer 6 different low income studio spaces for rent for artists in the area, We also offer a gallery space for artists to showcase their artwork during our final fridays events, In our gallery space when we are not having showcases we are offering our space to teach classes, hold meetings and pop up events that are tailored to the art community. We will also be participating in the West Bottoms first weekend festivities with a vendor pop up shop showcasing over 10 different area vendors to sell their goods and wares.

Our goal is to be open and fully operational by March 1st but in order to be fully complete we are seeking help from our immediate community to help us complete the final building for jupiter diy if we could reach our goal by february 1st we would have more than enough time to finish building for our march launch.

Materials we are needing (Money and Donated Items)

Electrical work - We are looking to add more hardwired outlets in jupiter diy. We are working with an IBEW union journeyman that will be installing all electrical work in unison with code requirements

Ceiling Fans - We will be adding 6 new ceiling fans into our space to adequately create a better airflow for summer months

Industrial Sink - We are needing to provide a better sink system for the amount of cleaning and materials not only we use but all of our artists use

Drywall & Materials - To add in our new industrial sink we will need to extend our bathroom wall a few feet back to make room for the sink.

Plywood - We have 3 more walls to build to make our studio, gallery walls and office space built

Killz Paint White - To finish the painting of the gallery walls and to touch up any scuffs and buffs
