In February 2014 Julie discovered the inflammatory breast cancer, first diagnosed in October 2012, had spread to her liver, lungs, bones and brain. She was given the devastating news that any further treatment could only control the disease, rather than cure it. Julie has now undergone over 50+ cycles of a targeted chemo drug from the cancer drugs fund and two targeted radiotherapy blasts on her brain. As a result Julie's body is now struggling with the ongoing chemotherapy and can no longer tolerate any further treatment that the NHS can offer her. As a result she now needs to explore alternative treatments. Unfortunately most of these options come at a price, so we're aiming to raise as much money as possible to help contribute towards funds for future treatments which are unavailable on the NHS, both in the UK and abroad. The ultimate aim being for Julie to have precious time with her family and friends.
