Thank you for visiting my fundrasing page.

In February 2014 Julie discovered the inflammatory breast cancer, first diagnosed in October 2012, had spread to her liver, lungs, bones and brain. She was given the devastating news that any further treatment could only control the disease, rather than cure it. Julie has now undergone over 50+ cycles of a targeted chemo drug from the cancer drugs fund and two targeted radiotherapy blasts on her brain. As a result Julie's body is now struggling with the ongoing chemotherapy and can no longer tolerate any further treatment that the NHS can offer her. As a result she now needs to explore alternative treatments. Unfortunately most of these options come at a price, so we're aiming to raise as much money as possible to help contribute towards funds for future treatments which are unavailable on the NHS, both in the UK and abroad. The ultimate aim being for Julie to have precious time with her family and friends.

Huge shout out to Jamie Dewar who took on a great challenge to lose a stone in a month - if he was successful then everyone who sponsored him had to pay up into Julie’s Treatment Fund and if he wasn’t then he would pay up in to the treatment fund - Jamie won!

Well Done Jamie

Huge shout out to Fiona Maclean (Julie’s Cousin) who took on one of the toughest Triathlons in the Country - The Braveheart Challenge - last weekend. Amazingly her finish time was 7hrs 43mins, finishing as 4th lady and to date her fundraising is well over £4000 with more offline donations to come in. We are all so proud of you Fiona for taking on such a huge challenge and for raising such an amazing amount of money well done

Hi All! Julies fundraising team here, we thought we'd update you on what's been going on and to thank you all for your continued support. As you know we have been fundraising since April 2016 and the total raised to date is an amazing £67,353.46 - thank you all so much. As some of you maybe aware Julie has had to stop her NHS targeted chemo treatment, Kadcyla, as it's taken its toll on her body so is now looking into alternative treatments as, unfortunately, there are no further treatment options available on the NHS at the moment. Julie has already made a trip to a hospital in Germany and is pleased to say there are treatment options available, however, they are at great cost and will cost far more than we have managed to raise so far. So we will be upping our fundraising as best we can over the coming weeks and months. People from up and down the country have supported Julie by holding various events, they've run, climbed mountains, held quizzes, played bingo, held afternoon teas, exercise classes and party nights, cut their hair off, held coffee mornings, sold items on eBay …… you name it, everyone is trying it! So if you can think of any opportunity where you may be able to help us by raising more funds we would be so grateful and there is team of us available to help you in any way we can.
Thanks lots #juliedoingit4theboys
