Seventy-two-year-old Judy Young, an original resident of One Thousand Oaks
Condominiums in South Orlando, experienced a tragedy when it was discovered
that the unit above her had been leaking into her living space, as well as a slow
pipe leak in an exterior wall causing mold and mildew to form all around her. Her
health is already very fragile and went through two extensive brain surgeries so
she had to move out of the unsafe and unhealthy environment.
We are asking for help pay for the $25,000 worth of damages so that she can
return to the home she has lived in for 43 years.
Some local contractors in the industry have donated their time and talents to
remove the moldy and contaminated materials as well as perform the necessary
Remediation cleaning. Ms. Young's personal contents and furniture have been
packed and stored behind containment barriers in the condo.
Donations are being requested to fund the costs for repairs; cabinetry, trim,
painting, plumbing & electrical so that she can return to the home that she loves.
