HELP THIS VETERAN GET DENTURES!

Hello Everyone!

I'm going to give this a shot because we can't get any help from anywhere else, (believe me we have tried), and due to the extensive work she needs done, it will take several appointments until it is all taken care of.

My Mom (Diane Davis) is a 64 year old Veteran of the US Army. She served during and after the Vietnam Era from 1974-1977. After she was discharged she went to work at the VA as a Respiratory Therapist saving other veterans lives. This was her career for over 25 years until she had to retire.

My Mom does have health care at the VA, but the one thing they will not cover is dental work. Not through the VA or from an outside agency. Dental is ONLY covered if you are VA disability or have a service related condition. In her case, she is retired, has no service related condition, and is not disabled. Her insurance will not cover dental, not even an extraction. We have tried so hard to find a way, but she keeps getting struck down with denile after denile. No dental school, dentist, charity, or any other place will help or let us make payments. Some places do if you have good credit, but that is something that we unfortunately are not approved for.

Right now she has 3 (decent) teeth in her mouth. Some of the other ones have been worn down so much that the gum has grown over the teeth which means she needs surgury to get them removed. She can hardly eat and she has been getting infections which seems to happen every month or so. The VA perscribes pain killers and antibiotics, but that is all they will do.

It boils down to we need help. I have researched the costs through several dentists and given the fact she needs surgery, the lowest price I have found is estimated to be $4,000!

It pains me to see my Mom struggle with the simple act of eating and being in pain. She seriously needs dentures. I have not told her about this campaign because I don't want her to get her hopes up. She has had a very tough life as a single Mother and I would love to surprise her with the gift of a new set of teeth. Any help with donations and shares would be much appreciated!!!
