Support for 6 year old Castillo

Jouseppe Castillo-Mora
I am Kristy Fitzgerald, the principal at Phillips Traditional School.  Our Phillips family and community were devastated to find out that two of our students were in a horrific traffic accident while on a short vacation to Chicago.  Jouseppe Castillo-Mora, 6 years old, perished in the crash and his brother JanLuka Castillo-Mora, 9 years old, remains in intensive care with non-life threatening injuries.
Jouseppe would have been in first grade this fall.  He was a silent little leader who was very respected by his peers and even the friends of his older brother.  He was kind hearted and always willing to help others.  He was a strong student both academically and behaviorally.  He was nominated by our counselor to our building wide Hall of Fame for his outstanding work.  An honor that only 9 kindergarteners out of 66 were able to achieve.  If asked, he probably would have said that he really enjoyed art, and he had a true talent for it.  This year he was honored by having his art work chosen by our art teacher to represent our school at the district wide art fair.  We are so proud to remember all his short life accomplished, but deeply saddened to realize we will not be able to see him reach his full potential.  Our Phillips family will hold his memory near and dear to our hearts.
His mother, Griselda Mora, and father, Carlos Castillo desperately need financial support so they can bring Jouseppe's body home to Des Moines and give him the proper buriel that he deserves.  No parent should ever have to bury their 6 year old son.  We hope, at least, we can support them in doing so without compromising their faith, beliefs, or morals.  They will also need funds to cover the ever growing medical costs of Jan Luka's surgery to repair his hand and severed fingers, the hospitalization incurred from that procedure, and the rehabilatation that may be needed.  In addition, they are incurring daily financial hardships being strapped to a city that is not home, having no family there, and having to stay in a hotel for much longer than was intended at the start of their fateful journey.
