My name is Isabella Cain. Ever since I was little I wanted to travel abroad and help people. Now, at sixteen years old, I have that opportunity.
Global Leadership Adventure is a great organization that allows for high school students to participate in educational, meaningful, and safe volunteer work. There are many programs and countries to choose from, but I chose a program close to my heart. I enjoy the satisfaction I get from teaching and my late aunt shared her love for Africa with me, so I chose a Children's Education program.
I will be going to Tanzania in Africa July 2019. Once there I will teach local children English and volunteer on projects on a village primary school. Also, I will get to experience the local culture, hike Mt Kilimanjaro, and learn some Swahili. This is an adventure that I will never forget, however, the trip costs $3,799 and I need the money before March 1, 2019.
On my own I'm trying to raise enough funds to travel abroad and do volunteer work. In addition to my school work, sports, clubs, and my internship at the local museum, I am tutoring students, giving music lessons, and babysitting. However, myself alone cannot get me to Tanzania.
This is why I implore you to take a few minutes out of your day and donate money to a good cause, you will not regret it. Any contribution is a welcome contribution, and will be greatly appreciated.
