Joe's & Kristen's Restoration!

$1,755 of $14,000 goal

Raised by 25 people in 4 months
Created July 30, 2018
Imagine being a couple living with disabilities (on a fixed income) without HVAC and a 49-year old roof that doesn’t shield you from the elements of nature. In spite of enduring harsh physical and environmental conditions, you choose to shield others from the austere elements of life.

This story is about Kristen, a resilient lady—battling cerebral palsy, who fervently serves her community by going to the streets to feed the homeless every Sunday and participating on the personal encouragement team at the church.

Joe, who is Kristen’s husband, refurbished the homes of others in need as a General Contractor before suffering from vertigo. It is time to harvest the ancient proverb, “you will reap what you sow” for Kristen and Joe.

We invite you to assist us in returning the favor to these benevolent heroes by replacing their roof in mid-September and supplying heating/air before the onset of the rainy season which begins in early October.  With the condition of the shingles, they know the roof will not make it through the fall season.

All donations will be collected by the Mission Church in Vacaville, CA  http://missionvacaville.org/about-us/our-staff/ (Marlene Hurst, Accounting Department) and given to Joe and Kristen.  If there are any questions, please be sure to contact Maurice A. Arnold (Widows Project, Director) via email: arnoldmaurice7@gmail.com or FaceBook:  https://www. facebook.com/maurice.arnold. 351?ref=br_rs.

Champions, yesterday Above All Roofing finished the Joe's & Kristen's roof. Please vote for them as The Reporters 2018 Reader's Poll Roofing Company of the Year. They did a great job! Also, Chick-Fil-A in Vacaville, CA was generous enough to provide lunch during the roof tear off. Next, we plan to install a heating system, replace subflooring, and tackle some electrical work. Thanks to everyone who posted/reposted, prayed and gave to the campaign.
We welcome your gifts to the campaign. There is a little more work to do.

Our GoFundMe Campaign yielded less than desirable results; nevertheless, The Mission Church family made up the difference with their generous contributions. We have approximately $13,000 ($1,000 additional dollars since the recording of this video).

The Iron Men will tear off the roof and replace the rotted wood this weekend (9/22 & 9/23). Early next week, the contractor will install the new roof. It is not too late to give. Thanks for your love and support. Another grand is still apart of the plan. We want to install a heating system and new bedroom flooring for them. Jesus came through an alternate route, and we appreciate it!

If you are in the Vacaville area and you want to help tear off the roof, please inbox me.
