Johns Vintage machinery rescue

This last little while I have been lucky enough to become friends with a motivated and passionate gentleman named John Ashburn, who lives in a little town in the Goldfields region of central Victoria. Through my many interests, he has been an inspiration; and a help in many ways to many people. No one leaves his workshop without a little gift or favour, and he never seems to expect much in return.

 
Now, however, the local council has decided to move in on his pride and joy – an old, heritage listed factory in the main street of town; full from wall to wall with vintage tools, vehicles, and machines.


On 11th June, we believe, fences will go up and amenities will probably be disconnected. 
Any machinery that has not been removed by then, will most likely be sitting outside in the rain and elements.


It would seem a pity if I didn’t at least try to offer some assistance and try to save some vintage iron; but time off work is an impossibility, and also I live in SE Queensland.  So as a start I intend to contribute to this fund, and hope other people with the same interests can add a little bit too. 

I have set the goal for this campaign at $2500.00 because that is around the price for a 20' shipping container to go on site. Depending on weather etc though, this money may just go to tarps and to crane hire or even just food and hot water. 

Thanks for any help if you can offer it – I realise that there are machinery collectors all over the world, and maybe this is the best way to pitch in and save a huge collection of 40+ vintage machine tools.
