John’s Second Chance at Life

Donation protected
Dear friends and family, we are humbly seeking any financial support that you are comfortable with in an effort to save my 24 year old brother, John Myrick Martin. On April 21, 2019, just before midnight, John suffered a hemorrhagic stroke in the brain. After a couple of CT scans, the doctors at Commonwealth Healthcare have found and confirmed the Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) in his brain.

We as his family do not see money as a deciding factor about the pursuit of his medical needs. Although we know these procedures will leave us an enormous medical bill, our first priority is to get my brother all the help he can get in order to survive. He has been in intensive care unit since his admission, partially relying on ventilator for breathing as he is still unconscious at the moment. We are doing our best to find an amazing doctor that will not give up on him. We recently got in contact with Dr. Gerardo Legaspi of St. Luke’s Medical Center in BGC Philippines, who believes that my brother still has hope. We are holding on to any hope that we can get to have our brother back.

Based on his CT scan today (April 26), his brain damage is getting worse and we urgently need to get him to the Philippines. Time is of the essence.

John is a quiet and private guy who keeps to himself and is not ever one to complain about anything. He accepts everyone and everything that is given to him with a heart full of gratitude. He is an intelligent, helpful, dependable, and kind brother, son, friend, and colleague.

Some of you may have known him as the smart and quiet guy in high school, who never caused any trouble, always did whatever he needed to do, and helped whoever needed it. Now as an employee of Docomo, he plays the same role. People depend on him for assistance and people trust his work. Although he keeps a low key profile, he’s made good friends.

We are kindly asking for your help to bring him to the Philippines. John is still fighting for his life and we don’t want to give up on him. Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated. Please share this with your friends and family as well. Help us, and most importantly, help John fight for his survival.
