Tanzania Expedition 2018

My name is Joe Harris. I am currently a Year 10 student at St Edward's in Poole and am studying for my GCSEs. In the summer of 2018, I will be travelling to Tanzania which is in East Africa with the school and Camps International.
Tanzania is a poor country where 40% of the people live below the poverty line.
While over there the projects I will be working on are:
- Helping out in the community
- Helping to build schools and visit schools
-Helping to build water facilities so that they can have clean water.
This will be a great experience for me as when I am older I want to be a primary school teacher and I will be able to help out in a school when I am there and work in the community with younger children. It will also give me a great opportunity and chance to see another country and what challenges the children face in a country that is less fortunate than ours.
This will be a physical and emotional challenge for me as I have never done this before or witnessed anything like this.
The money you donate will not only help me get there, but more importantly will go towards helping the local communities and the projects I will be working on when I am there.
While we are there I will also be climbing Mount Meru. We will embark on a 4-5 day adventure, while along the way seeing many rare animals. Wildlife is also a big part of this expedition. We will be going on a safari and we will be making elephant poo paper for the locals to sell at the markets to tourists.
I will be doing most of my fundraising in 2017 as I would like to raise the money before I start my final year of GCSEs in September 2017.
I will be doing a number of different things to raise money. These will include Corporate Sponsorship, Sponsored Walks, Car Boots, Bake Sales and selling a few of my personal belongings like my Drum Kit.
