Jaws of Extinction - #JoEGame



We're excited to finally present Jaws Of Extinction (JoE), an exceptional new non-linear, story-driven, open-world sandbox style, singleplayer & multiplayer, zombie-horror survival game.


Your story begins on the island of Eden-Nadir, a place renowned for its beauty and thriving wildlife. You will be faced with decisions you may or may not wish to make as you battle against terrifying infected and re-animated humans, the military, the island's wildlife, forces of nature, other players and your own conscience…


Begin by playing the introduction to the story, set in Lockcrest Penitentiary, as a single player tutorial. After that, choose to either continue to follow the storyline and delve into the secrets of Eden-Nadir or carve your own path exploring the huge, open-world, hand-crafted, sandbox environment.


Discover and claim Eden-Nadir’s vast landscape, from sweeping, open lavender and corn fields to sun-dappled forests, murky swamps to beautiful seashores, deserted towns and fortified cities to quaint villages and picturesque countryside retreats. You can build, defend, hunt, fight, scavenge, loot, ambush… it’s up to you! How will you survive?



Whether you choose single player or multiplayer, you will be fighting to survive from the moment you arrive. You may choose to work alongside fellow survivors and create a safe new world in which everyone can thrive, or you may choose to monopolise Eden-Nadir and rule with an iron fist. But be cautious… your integrity will be carefully monitored. Your actions will affect how the island sees you and its inhabitants may choose to rally against you and take you down…

 
During your time on Eden-Nadir, you might be offered jobs and quests by characters you meet in safe zones or who are trying to make it on their own in the wild, or even over the radio. These undertakings can offer unique rewards, but they are entirely optional. JoE can be played purely for the joy of survival.
 
Although you'll meet your fair share of slow, shambling corpses, not all of the zombies roaming around are as easy to take out as you may think. We won't spoil the surprise by going into too much detail, but bear in mind that you'd best keep your guard up and have your wits about you at all times…


We are working hard to give you the survival game we've all been waiting for since it became a popular genre. As developers we have been inspired by a multitude of survival/horror/adventure/rpg/action games, films, TV shows and books, but what we have created is something unique. JoE brings the best of all of those things together in one epic game.

 
Short "Single Player" tutorial - A prologue to your time on Eden-Nadir (it's optional if stories aren't your thing).
An immersive storyline - Follow the story to uncover the island’s secrets and gain unique rewards.
Music - The game's entire, incredible soundtrack is being custom made by our incredibly talented in-house composer.
 
Survival - Our survival mechanics are designed to mimic real life as closely as possible. For example, an average person can survive for around 3 weeks without food, about 3 days without water and only 12 hours without WiFi.

Play on your own in "Single Player" mode

Play with friends online in "Cooperative" mode

Play with the world online in "Multiplayer" mode
 
 World events and quests - Attempt these with friends and other players or take them on solo style. We won't tell you the odds of successfully navigating these quests on your own.

Player skill system - Increase your chances of survival by developing the skills you feel are most important.

Friendly Non-Playable Characters - Trade with NPCs for useful items and take on quests to help them.

Rich wildlife - Want to tame and ride a wild horse? Fancy trying your hand at falconry? The animals of Eden-Nadir aren't just there for decoration. Everything has a use. 


 Weapons - Utilise an expansive and explosively satisfying arsenal of weapons

Player crafting system - Use the logical and expansive crafting system to create what you need to survive.

Item upgrade system - Cover your baseball bat in barbed wire, name it after your dead wife and beat people to death with it.
 
Unique and simple User Interface - Our lead developer has worked through about 50 different UI systems in his quest to create the ultimate, user-friendly layout

Enemy military NPCs - Fight them head to head in deadly shootouts, ambush them, raid them, drive them out. They deserve it.

Infected NPCs - These wandering corpses are no walk in the park, we're making this game a challenge.

Player building system - Fortify native buildings or custom-build your own fortress.
Horde Attacks - Protect your base from huge waves of infected.


Vehicles and vehicle upgrades - They're not always easy to get hold of but there are a range of vehicles available to play with and a tonne of upgrades to go with them. Did someone say "Tank"?
 
Skin packs - Discover unlockable skin packs to customise the look of your survivor (no in-game purchases / micro transactions).

In-game currency - Go shopping and purchase unique items, essentials and upgrades (again, no in-game purchases / micro transactions - this is money you earn inside the game by looting corpses, completing quests etc.)

1st/3rd person view - We have included the option to switch between first person and third person to suit your play style. Do you prefer to look down the scope of your rifle as you gun down hordes of zombies or stealthily check what's coming around the corner?


Whether you choose to play solo or online the game is the same. There are no watered down versions and there will be absolutely no in-game purchasing at all – this is a game with integrity. You have paid for the game, so you get to enjoy it.


No matter how much you donate, we appreciate your support. Every backer will have timed exclusive access to the demo before it is available to the general public. 
 
The demo is set in Lockcrest Penitentiary, Eden-Nadir's prison facility, as a single player tutorial. It will introduce you to the game's story and style and some of the mechanics we have in game so far. We don't want to give you too much detail, you'll have to play it to find out more!

 
 When will we be able to play the demo?  
The official ETA is August, but all backers will have access 30 days before official release! All the basics are in, we're now at the point where we are fine tuning and ironing out wrinkles. As keen gamers ourselves we know the disappointment of playing something that was released before it was ready and we will never allow this to happen with our game. Expect the demo to be ready around midway through our campaign.



The Know Your Enemy Development Team
We are KYE Creations the main development team on the Jaws of Extinction project and have been developing the game for just coming up one year now. We mainly based in the United Kingdom with two of the development team living outside the UK.

 

We are also in partnership with Immortal hand studio, that have been helping develop mechanics to the game. Immortal hand are a small dedicated team working on the building system for Jaws of Extinction and developed the ladder climbing system in the current game.

Voice Acting Team
Our voice acting team is that of Team Infinite, Team Infinite is a fan based animation & voice acting studio which has recently chosen the route of video game voice acting studio, it has achieved success with the series known as Just Saiyan and handles the individual casting of actors for Jaws of Extinction.


Also included in our line up of voice talent is Matt Howell - Voice actor who worked with EVE Online, Farcry: Primal (Commercial) and World of Tanks 2017 superbowl commercial voice and Emi Jones, singer and voice over for fan made Sonic and Tails animation.

We're extremely excited to have some awesome, well known content creators from the survival genre involved in Jaws of Extinction, voicing non-playable characters who will issue you tasks and accompany you on quests.
