Jess’ Job Hunt

I’m Jess, I’m 19 and I live in Brighton.
Recently I’ve had some media attention, focussing on my unjust dismissal from my previous job. This all started when my dad posted about the situation on Twitter, in an attempt to reach out to people and businesses in the local area and hopefully find me a new employer.
Despite applying to plenty of jobs, having a few interviews, and working hard on my CV with the help of my local job centre, I’m still having no luck and have been out of employment for 2 months now. I’ve got plenty of skills and qualifications, so hopefully things will work out soon - but in the meantime, times are tough!
Living with my parents; 4 younger siblings; another sibling on the way; a cat and my own house bunny Henry means that there’s a lot of pressure being put on mine & my parents’ minimal income, making it pretty hard to get by.
I wouldn’t be starting this page if I didn’t have to do it, so any contributions are greatly appreciated and will go towards.....
- traveling to interviews
- suitable clothing for interviews
- insurance for my car
- potential training opportunities
- and last but not least, helping my parents to provide for the family

It’s very cute that some people are taking the time to insult me, despite not knowing a single thing about me - but that’s not the important thing here!
Huge thank you to everyone who’s helped in any way. As we’ve said before........we literally never even expected more than ten retweets and maybe one or two local job offers. That was the goal. I am not begging or expecting anybody to give me anything at all - if you don’t want to donate, DON’T. Just get on with your own life instead of wasting your time on me!
I’m incredibly grateful to now have enough money to pay back the rent that I owe to my dad, as well as enough to grab myself a 28 day bus saver to get me to my upcoming interviews.

Also - a friendly reminder that the issue about my termination from my job is not about me being a stubborn teenager who wants to be different. The issue is that I started my job with coloured hair - and a year and a half on my former manager changed his mind and contradicted everything that I’d been told for the whole year and a half that I was there. That’s not right! Employees are people. We all just want to be treated as such.
