Healthcare Education in Honduras

Join me in supporting SELF (Sustainable Empowerment Leadership Foundation) a NGO medical team providing health care, dental care and health education services in Honduras.  

From now through February 18th I'm volunteering my time and services as a photographer, videographer and web designer to help strengthen the medical team’s communication platform so they can continue to connect people with their vision and mission as they grow.

I'm choosing to support this organization and effort for the following reasons:

1) Sustainability - SELF medical professionals are partnering with leaders in Honduras to educate, train, equip and empower Honduran people to help people in their own communities.  I believe inspiring people to invest in their own village, and showing them how, leads to a much healthier and lasting model of charity.

2) Unconditional Charity - SELF gives without any attached strings. It is not church based, is not proselytizing, and exists for the sole purpose of helping Hondurans be empowered to lead and educate a healthier and more informed population.

3) Lean and Efficient - SELF is a grassroots organization.  It's nimble, built on relational networks and has no overhead.  Part of why I'm choosing to volunteer my time/skills is to help them stay lean and focused on their specific mission.

I'll be traveling to four different rural villages in Honduras.  At two of these communities we will be following up on relationships began with community leaders and over 400 persons that were given medical or dental care in the fall of 2016.
