Friends, families and supporters. Thank you for visiting Jake and Lorrie Colborn's Go Fund Me page. This page was set up to build funds that will allow Jake and Lorrie to start the immediate rebuilding process. As you know Jake and Lorrie lost not only thier home of 42 years, but Jake's business headquarters and shop. The devastation of losing a home that you have raised a family in, built with your own hands and created memories in is one thing, but to lose your livelihood adds salt to the wound.

Many of us have special memories of times at their home. Whether it is a memory as simple as playing in Jake's shop, or swinging on the rope swing to more impactful memories like being married on the lawn this home has been a place of celebration, refuge and joy for us all.

Jake and Lorrie are resiliant and their support system grows as deep and wide as the roots of the oak trees that still surround their property. Their home can be rebuilt, and the memories will stay, but it takes money to start that process.

Lorrie left in just a robe, Jake in his shorts and a sweatshirt. They literally have nothing. Simple things cost, and without the barn, shop and all of Jake's tools, having income to buy these things will take time. Jake and Lorrie have done so much, for so many, over the years, it is our turn to lift them up and give back. If it is in your heart, please give what you can. Remember, even $1 buys a toothbrush!

Thank you for your support and please share with others. We know many people who have lost homes during this terrible fire, let's start here helping to rebuild.

It's been 2 months since we started this campaign and we have been overwhelemed with the outpouring of support. We passed our fundraising goal and were able to buy a nice trailer that sits on the property so we can watch the rebuliding as it happens on a daily basis. Thank you again for all you have done and continue to do!

It's niece Daisy again, I was up with Jake and Lorrie today and on bahelf of them, they wanted to share this message:
It is with an overflowing heart that we were able to have our "new home" delivered to the property today. Bless, all of you who have helped us with this purchase, as the insurance company is swamped and taking their time. . . we feel so lucky to be able to sleep under some of the great oak trees that survived the fire and be back on the land that we will begin to rebuild on. We are beyond words to express our gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends and family. Thank you just never seems to be enough, but it is the only way to express our deep appreciation for your gifts. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and as 2018 is upon us we look forward to embarking on a new chapter filled with rebuliding, hope and a deep sense of gratitude for the support we've seen and felt. May you all be blessed with the gifts that we have!

I can't begin to thank you all for your donations. I, along with Jake and Lorrie are overwhelemed by your generosity. I run a business that is focused on mindfulness and today I reflected and shared about how being mindful means being present to what we can control that is right in front of us. Today, Merry Nell, Jake's sister, did just that. She took a mindful approach and painted their mailbox. It is a bright spot amongst the gray of the burned out surroundings. I see it as a symbol of the starting over that is taking place only a week after losing everything. Thank you again for your generosity. . . and as I've said before, thank you is not enough!

Are you in need of a tent for them? Some friends and I have pooled together here in New York to buy some tents for those who lost their homes. They are large enough for 12, have closets and media storage. If so, please message me on Facebook.
